Bryce 3D 3.1, Corel Photo-Paint 8, TieraZon2 RENDER TIME: A few minutes (800x600, 300MHz PII) DESCRIPTION: I love this image. It reminds me of Tolkein's Lord of the Rings, and sometimes I almost expect to see Bilbo or Frodo bobbling across the screen. Technically, it has a few rough edges, and is certainly not ready for print. It was just a quick test to see how a newly completed fractal (Sinuosity 1) looked when imported into Bryce's terrain editor. After creating the terrain I zoomed into one area and found this sitting there. Total creation time couldn't have been more than 5 minutes (within Bryce). I do plan on turning this into a real scene sometime soon. To see the original fractal, click here. TECHNICAL: The scene is composed of one terrain and one fractal image used as both a material and a 'grayscale-to-height' image. ABOUT THE RENDERING: The original rendering was made at 800x600 (72 dpi), then resampled and converted in Corel PhotoPaint 8 to produce the 640x480 and 800x600 JPG versions. |
